GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Several roadway projects will impact local traffic over the coming months, with the Scenic Drive Pavement Rehabilitation Phase 2 project causing weekday lane closures from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and detours on South Street, Woodland Avenue, Glenn Avenue and Sylvan Avenue expected to finish between August and January while traffic controls remain in effect (motorists are advised to drive slowly and use alternate routes). - ➤ Starting July 1, 2025, new California laws will take effect to update rules for school bus drivers—who must now pass background checks and tests—and require school IDs to include a suicide hotline number. The laws will also affect online platforms, food delivery services, short-term rental listings, private investigator contracts, and expand OSHA coverage for domestic workers. FOX40
