- ➤ The city of Modesto is reviewing plans for a $125 million soccer stadium and entertainment center and is gathering community input on two potential sites—Municipal Golf Course and Downtown-North Centre Plaza. A workshop on Aug. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at Centre Plaza will let residents share concerns about cost, displacement, and effects on local businesses while officials review a USL letter of intent signed in Sept. 2024. - ➤ Stanislaus sheriff's deputies now patrol the Modesto transit center — the move comes as part of a new partnership to address safety concerns in the area. CBS News Sacramento
