Lodi wineries have seen lower sales over the past three years, and the Winegrape Commission is proposing a new 1.5% sales assessment on direct wine sales to fund marketing and promotion—if approved after public hearings, the plan will bring in about $630,000 annually to support the local industry. The proposal will be reviewed by the Board of Supervisors in September and could be in place by January.
🚨 Crime
Modesto police report there have been no homicides so far in 2025, marking a major drop from 25 homicides in 2015 and seven last year+ officers credit new technology and community partnerships for the decline.
