The Downtown Streets Team announced it will end its statewide operations on October 31 after 20 years of service—providing job training, cleanup crews, and housing support to nearly 400 Modesto residents since 2019.
City officials are now working with local partners to develop a replacement program for the Camp2Home initiative.
🏈 Sports
Modesto City Council approved a five-year lease with Main Street Modesto LLC on Tuesday night after the Modesto Nuts played their final game, ensuring that professional baseball will remain at John Thurman Field.
The deal offers a three-year extension option, requires $120,000 in annual rent while the city will cover utilities and invest up to $950,000 in upgrades—helping the new team, which will begin play next spring, bring sports back to the community.
