Good morning, Modesto. Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 3rd of October.

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, the Weekly Traffic Impact Report shows that road projects on Scenic Drive from Bodem to Oakdale, South Street in Empire, Woodland Avenue at Poust, and Coffee Road with night work from October 5th to 9th will cause lane closures and delays. Detours and active traffic control are planned through early 2026 and beyond—motorists are urged to drive slowly and use alternate routes.  City of Modesto
  • The California Housing Department warned Patterson that rejecting the Keystone Ranch project for 700 new homes may have broken state law because the city did not make the required findings under the Housing Accountability Act—state officials said the move could prompt action by the state attorney general. Patterson officials argued that new water rules forced a cut in groundwater pumping and extra environmental reviews, and they must reply by the end of October.  CBS News Sacramento
