Good morning, Modesto.
🏛️ Government
Modesto public works released a traffic report that shows delay issues from ongoing projects along Scenic Drive, Woodland Avenue, Coffee Road + other areas with lane closures and detours during weekday hours from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; several projects will finish as early as December and January while others will extend into 2026 and 2027, so drivers should use alternate routes and drive slowly.
The Ripon Fire District held a town hall on November 20 at Spring Creek Golf Country Club to warn residents that a staffing and funding crisis leaves the district with one fire engine and an empty station.
Chief Eric DeHart said the district — already stretched by rising 911 calls — will review its finances and plan a new tax measure in the spring to boost services.
