Good morning, Modesto. Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 21st of November.

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Modesto public works released a traffic report that shows delay issues from ongoing projects along Scenic Drive, Woodland Avenue, Coffee Road + other areas with lane closures and detours during weekday hours from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; several projects will finish as early as December and January while others will extend into 2026 and 2027, so drivers should use alternate routes and drive slowly.  City of Modesto
  • The Ripon Fire District held a town hall on November 20 at Spring Creek Golf Country Club to warn residents that a staffing and funding crisis leaves the district with one fire engine and an empty station. Chief Eric DeHart said the district — already stretched by rising 911 calls — will review its finances and plan a new tax measure in the spring to boost services.  CBS Sacramento
